Humankind: EnviroLegal Club

EnviroLegal Club; as the name suggests, this club deals with environment problems and also how to deal with them in a legal perspective in our state of Jammu and Kashmir. The EnviroLegal club is a network of action-oriented young minds who are concerned about the Environmental issues. The club is not only focused with environment’s beautification but the betterment of it for future generations as well. The main objective and purpose of the club is Not just keeping it for today’s society only, but for the future society as well, the main objective of the club is to set an example for our local people as well as visitors to realize that indeed our natural resources, are of great importance to our lives, that though we utilize such resources, we also maintain them in a manner that we will not lose them or even risk losing them.
The EnviroLegal Club has initiated a chain of people across the state, in which we shall have some volunteers in each and every school of the valley, so that we may form a sort of a “Green Chain” and the volunteers of this chain shall be called, the “Green Ambassadors”.  We at EnviroLegal club believe in doing things together rather than doing individually, when we work there is no “I” but there “We” which means we believe in team work, we also believe in doing things rather than making statements only and not implementing them.  The club works under the aegis of a Non-profitable organization named “Humankind”. The purpose of the club is:-
  • To aware the general public about the environmental issues and their possible solutions.
  • To create a “Green chain” across the state of Jammu and Kashmir and make the volunteers of this chain; the Green Ambassadors.
  • To encourage youth to be active in the improvement of nature in their own communities, as well as the community of the world, and thereby realize that solutions to world problems are achieved through individual involvement.
  • To create and implement programs and projects to reduce waste and pollution.
  • To work for improvement of the environment of the Lakes and other water bodies by educating people and by implementing projects that will directly affect the quality of the land and water.
  • To create awareness of environmental issues, increase the knowledge of club members of the broader community about the issues, influence local attitudes toward the environment in a positive way, help people gain skills that benefit the environment, show by example with group participation in meaningful activities that improve the environment or environmental conditions.
